Sourdough pizza base

I made pizza last night using sourdough as base, using the starter made last week. It turned out really well and easy! The used starter needs to be refrigerated to keep it alive. Take it out of the fridge the night before and make the dough the next morning.

Replenish the starter and leave out for 24 hours and put it back it back in the fridge for your next baking.

Back to the pizza base; make the dough like you would for a loaf of bread. The dough needs to rest and be kneaded followed by more resting and more kneading and final rest.

Meanwhile, prepare the base and cut/chopped all ingredients to go unto the pizza topping. Divide dough into balls, roll out into squares or circles depending on the baking pan and assemble the pizza.

Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes on 200°C. Serve immediately.

I made mine with grilled pumpkin, mushroom, onion and Sanitarium fake smoked deli slices. It was really good. 🙂
