I had to go through Melbourne Central Station today on my way home from work and imagine my delight – the whole podium has been turned into a kitchen garden to promote Stephanie Alexander‘s Kitchen Garden program.
It was a feast for the eyes. There were beetroots, herbs galore, buckets of potatoes and apples and much more. It was a treat and a real delight to stumble across this temporary installation. A little sanctuary from the hustle-bustle city scene. What a great idea to inspire as many people as possible on the endless possibility of growing your own food, be it a balcony or a small plot of land in suburbia-land.
